The Inaugural Harrison Township, MI Run For Resilience Ostomy 5k will be held on Saturday, October 6, 2018. All proceeds benefit the United Ostomy Associations of America, Inc (UOAA) charity, a 501(c)(3) organization. Donations are tax deductible. (https://www.ostomy.org/)

Kids Activities and bidding at the silent auction throughout the morning
This Certified Run/Walk will be held within Lake St. Clair Metropark at the West Playfield Shelter near the Nature Center, taking participants on the scenic boardwalk along Lake St. Clair. The flat, out-and-back, 5K course will start and finish near the Nature Center. This is a timed race on a certified course for 5K participants. The Fun run will utilize the same course without a timer.
Park entrance fee is not included.
Ample parking for the event is located within the Nature Center parking entrance.
Pre-race Packet Pickup: To Be Announced
Day-of packet pickup will be from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. on October 6th at the race site at Lake St. Clair Metropark, 31300 Metro Parkway, Harrison Township, MI.
Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 male and top 3 female overall finishers, age group winners, and the top 3 ostomates.
Tech T-shirts will be included with registration if registered before the deadline. Race shirts will be either unisex or female v-neck cut. You are guaranteed a race shirt if you register by September 20th. You may purchase additional race shirts for $10 each.
OPTIONAL OSTOMY POUCH
Race registration bags will have typical race/sponsor promotional items, ostomy education materials, and most importantly an ostomy pouch. We encourage non-ostomate participants to put on the pouch for the race to improve awareness and empathy for the challenges faced by people living with ostomies.
The Run for Resilience Ostomy 5k will be a family-friendly event including kids’ activities during the event. Specific kids’ activities include:
– Face Painting
Set up your own personal or team fundraising site and get your friends and family to reach your fundraising goals. If you raise over $250, you will receive a unique gift to be determined.

This event is held annually to raise awareness of this life-saving surgery, empower those living with an ostomy or continent diversion, and raise funds to support UOAA’s programs and services. We encourage you to invite family, friends, co-workers, caregivers and others to join you at this special event to walk, run or just enjoy the family-friendly festivities.
