COURSE

The run/walk will take place at George Ward Park with registration/activities being located at Field 6, 1901 Greensprings Avenue, Birmingham, Alabama 35205. The course will be within the park and there will be signs mapping out the race course. Come celebrate Ostomy Awareness with us!

9:00 a.m. 5K Run/Walk

10:00 a.m. 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk (kids/adults)

11:30 a.m. Awards and Closing Remarks

Kids Activities and vendors will be open throughout the duration of the event.

We’re celebrating World Ostomy Day with this Run for Resilience Ostomy 5K Run/Walk.

DESCRIPTION

This 5k Fun Run/Walk will educate, support, and raise community awareness about people living with ostomies including urostomy, ileostomy, and colostomy.

All proceeds benefit the United Ostomy Associations of America, Inc. (UOAA) charity, a 501(c)(3) organization. Donations are tax deductible. www.ostomy.org

FAMILY ACTIVITIES

The Run for Resilience Ostomy 5k will be a family-friendly event including kids’ activities during the event.

Specific kids’ activities include: – Face Painting -Cornhole -Coloring

T-SHIRT

Tech T-shirts will be included with registration if registered before the deadline. Race shirts will be either unisex or female v-neck cut. You are guaranteed a race shirt if you register by September 20th. You may purchase additional race shirts for $10 each.

PARKING

There is a parking lot located immediately as you turn into the park.

REGISTRATION

Online Registration ends October 3, 2018 onsite registration available but t-shirt not guaranteed.

Volunteers are needed from 7:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

PACKET PICKUP

Day-of packet pickup will be from 8 AM to 9 AM at George Ward Park.

Fundraising is an important aspect of our Run for Resilience Ostomy 5K. Funds raised help UOAA continue to provide resources, educational materials, advocacy and support to the ostomy and continent diversion community.

We invite you to set up your own Personal or Team Fundraiser when registering to participate in the event, or through our DONATION link. You can create a unique Fundraiser Name and URL address, personalize your fundraising message, and direct your friends and family to your page to join your team or sponsor you in your fundraising goal.

FUNDRAISING INCENTIVES

Your commitment to fundraise and support the ostomy and continent diversion community is no small endeavor, and we appreciate your dedication and hard work.

  • “Empower” Fundraisers who raise $150 or more will receive a unique and limited T-shirt.
  • “Champion” Fundraisers who raise $250 more will receive a distinctive, adjustable Visor.
  • The Top Fundraising Team will also be awarded a ‘Special’ Prize!
