Join us on Ostomy Awareness Day Saturday October 3, 2020 for a virtual run or walk wherever you live.
All Run For Resilience Ostomy 5k events will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2020 as a Virtual Event. Run, walk, or roll safely at your own favorite place and celebrate Ostomy Awareness Day (OAD) on October 3rd. All proceeds benefit the United Ostomy Associations of America, Inc (UOAA) charity, a 501(c)(3) organization. Donations are tax deductible.
We know how much the ostomy community looks forward to getting together to raise awareness and celebrate Ostomy Awareness Day. However, since we’re unsure of what’s ahead with COVID-19 leading into the Fall, UOAA and our dedicated Race Directors have decided it is better to create a safe and social distancing environment to celebrate and spread the message that “Ostomies Are Life-Savers”. Therefore, our local Ostomy 5k events across the country will be held Virtually within their communities rather than in-person this year.
What does that mean for you, your family and friends? With your registration for your local Virtual Run/Walk, you will receive a unique 10th Anniversary Ostomy Awareness Day Race T-Shirt. We encourage you to wear it at your favorite place to run, walk or roll in your community while raising awareness. Or, if you feel more comfortable staying at home, hop on your treadmill or take a stroll through your neighborhood.
If you select a local city event as opposed to the worldwide Virtual 5k the local Race Director will make arrangements for T-Shirt pick-ups in advance of the event at a safe location with staggered times to avoid groups of more than 10. You will also be able to print and wear your Race Bib on the day of the event. More information regarding these plans will be communicated to you as we get closer to the event.
As this is a critical fundraising event for our nonprofit organization, we encourage you to start a Personal or Team Fundraiser when you register, and ask your family and friends to join you to help support UOAA and our mission.
All events benefit United Ostomy Associations of America, Inc. (UOAA), a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. ostomy.org
